Homemade Pizza
Ingredients
DOUGH:
1 C. WARM WATER (105 DEGREES F)
1 T. GRANULATED SUGAR
1 T. ACTIVE DRY YEAST
1 T. OLIVE OIL
2-2 ½ C. ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
1 T. FINE SEA SALT
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Combine warm water, yeast and sugar in a large mixing bowl and stir to combine.
Let mixture sit for 5 minutes, or until it becomes frothy and bubbles form.
Gently stir in the olive oil. Add 2 C. of flour and the salt and mix with a spatula until a ball begins to form (dough will be slightly sticky).
Add more flour as needed to form a dough ball.
Transfer dough ball to a floured surface and knead into a smooth dough, adding up to a ½ C. of extra flour if needed.
Roll the dough into your desired shape , brush olive oil on both sides and place on stone.
Bake this crust for about 5 minutes, turn over, bake another 5 min. Now you are ready to top.
Top with sauce, cheese and toppings of your choice. I personally love to finish with crumbled goat cheese if you are using ChefMel’s for the sauce. The tanginess of the goat cheese and the sweetness of the sauce are a perfect match!
Bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes, or to your desired level of doneness.
