Caprese Salad

Ingredients

  • 2-3 HOMEGROWN OR VINE RIPENED TOMATOES

  • 8 0Z BUFFALO MOZZARELLA

  • 1 DOZEN FRESH BASIL LEAVES

  • OLIVE OIL

  • BALSAMIC VINEGAR 

  • SALT

  • PEPPER

Instructions

  1. Slice your tomatoes about ¼ inch thick.

  2. Slice mozzarella same thickness.

  3. Place tomatoes on a platter, add a slice of mozzarella to every tomato. You can get creative with placement.

  4. Add a sprig or leaf of basil to each tomato/mozz.

  5. Mix 1:1 olive oil (Virgin is best for this dish) and balsamic vinegar.

  6. Add salt and pepper to your liking (your portions of O.O/vinegar/S/P will be determined by how many tomatoes and mozzarella you are serving).

  7. Pour this mixture over the tomatoes, mozzarella and basil and serve.
